OPEN Weekend 2009

Following Shine Week 2009, an OPEN Weekend was held on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July 2009 to help local authorities and their partners improve access for young people to positive activities on Friday and Saturday night.

The aim of Open Weekend was to encourage young people in local communities to make the most of what is on offer to them, finding alternative things to do in their area. NCVYS members took part by organising activities for young people, providing case studies about their own Friday and Saturday provision to help promote good practice and demonstrate the value of the voluntary and community sector in providing quality ‘out of hours’ provision.
