It is developed by a small team of volunteers who all have these challenges, who then involve people from across the world through the website to write articles for the magazine and postings for the website and through Facebook. Mencap – Raising Your Game http://raisingyourgame.mencap.org.uk Raising Your Game is a five year project for young people aged 14 to 25 with a learning disability or communication difficulty that have offended or may offend. The project aims to empower these young people to help them turn their lives around through personal development workshops being delivered in six regions across England. Aik Saath – Together As One www.aiksaath.com Saath means ‘Together As One’ in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. These words also embody the ethos of the charity. Aik Saath believe in working together with people from all communities, faiths and backgrounds to promote community cohesion and challenge violence and hatred. The project offers training sessions on conflict resolution and community cohesion which are designed and delivered by young people aged between 12 and 25 in their peer training team. Truth About Youth www.truthaboutyouth.org.uk Truth About Youth – North East are part of the Cooperative Foundation’s 3-year project, being run in the North-East of England in partnership with the Regional Youth Work Unit – North East. The aim of Truth About Youth is to challenge and change the widespread negative perceptions of young people. Truth About Youth – North East is an entirely youth-led programme where the young people have an essential role in planning, delivery and evaluation through their active involvement as employees and volunteers. |
