You are here: Infrastructure

NCVYS is the national infrastructure body for the voluntary and community youth sector in England. As a consequence of this NCVYS has a considerable history in the development of infrastructure with and for its networks.

NCVYS's role as an infrastructure organisation

Through our Membership Team development officers, NCVYS:

  • supports and facilitates the development of vibrant, modern and representative regional and local networks that support and enhance quality direct work with young people;

  • encourages and enables local networks and organisations working with young people to form new, positive relationships locally and regionally that enhance the capacity of the sector to engage in government initiatives; and

  • actively seeks to enhance the skills and competencies of volunteers and paid staff who support work with young people in the community.

This section of the website contains information on:

  • What is infrastructure? - including information on infrastructure functions within the voluntary and community youth sector, the importance of infrastructure and an archive of resources from past NCVYS projects

  • How to get involved? - what NCVYS offers to local infrastructure organisations, the benefits of membership, community of interest, events and learning clusters. This section also has more on the Community Sector Partnership for Children and Young People (CSPCYP)

  • Funding for infrastructure - containing information on funding streams and initiatives that support infrastructure
