What is the NCVYS Young Partners Award?

The NCVYS Young Partners Award (YPA), sponsored by Participation Works, the Big Lottery Fund and PGL, is a celebration of young people’s involvement in decision making within voluntary and community youth organisations or projects. It provides an opportunity for such organisations and projects to demonstrate what young people and adults can achieve through working in partnership, sharing ideas and inspiring eachother.

A Unique Award

Young people from NCVYS’s national youth forum organise the entire event. Using their own experiences they review, plan, shortlist and deliver the awards ceremony.

How are the nominations short-listed?

Nominations are short-listed in five categories, based on English regions. They are:

•    North Awards
•    South Awards
•    National Awards
•    London Awards
•    Midlands Awards

Each short-listed organisation or project will be visited by a NCVYS staff member and young people from our national youth forum, ENVOY, who will look for areas of youth participation within the selected organisation, which is how winners are decided.

What do the winners get?

Winners receive:

•    £500 small grant towards developing a youth participation project

•    A NCVYS Young Partners Award and certificate

•    An activity day away at a PGL centre in England

•    An invitation to the ceremony in December to receive the award
