Deadline approaching for NCS tenders

Don't forget - the deadline for submitting tenders for the National Citizenship Service 2013 & 2014 is noon 29 June 2012.

The key points from the DfE specification document are:

• We want to encourage organisations from all sectors – voluntary, business, public sector, social enterprises – to get involved in delivering NCS.

• We will be issuing 2 year contracts for 2013 and 2014 worth up to £200m – these contracts will have the potential to be extended, subject to performance in 2015.

• In order to build scale, we have taken an approach based on geographical regions – there will be 19 contracts available and each contract will offer a minimum of 1500 places.

• We expect organisations to form partnerships in order to deliver an expanded NCS and bids will come from regional consortiums.

• The deadline for tenders to be received by DfE is noon 29th June 2012 and providers will be in place by September 2012 - ready for delivery in 2013.
