New NCVYS briefing on Building the Big Society

In May 2010, The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister launched Building the Big Society, which outlines the new government’s civil society programme. This is the government’s ambition to “put more power and opportunity into people’s hands.” The government believes that by giving people and communities more power, they will take more responsibility, and fairness and opportunity for all can be achieved.
 
This briefing paper summarises the policy programme, and highlights potential issues for the voluntary and community youth sector arising from the publication.
