Over 300 places are now available on the Management Development Programme

Due to high demand the Children’s Workforce Council; (CWDC) are offering a further 324 places on their Management Development Programme (MDP). The training programme is designed to aid integration between managers across the young people’s workforce, especially those managers with strategic roles in delivering integrated services at a local level.

The programme is designed to build better skills, knowledge and behaviours in order to improve front line services for young people. The first course identified a need to recruit managers to the course from large shire counties and their Third Sector counterparts.

Deirdre Quill, Director of Integrated Workforce at CWDC, said ‘Take up of the three core training programmes has been really successful and emerging findings have identified the need for the extension to one of the programme so that another group of managers can benefit. This is why we’ve extended the Management Development Programme aimed specifically at large shire county local authorities who manage a portfolio that cuts across varied disciplines such as education welfare and employment advice.’

This training forms part of one of three Leadership & Management programmes funded by the (CWDC), as part of the Young People’s Workforce Reform Programme. The Young People’s Workforce Reform Programme is funded through the Department of Schools, Children and Families and has been developed with a range of partners including the National Council of Voluntary Youth Services NCVYS in order to deliver integrated and effective services for young people.
