Applying for membership

To join the NCVYS network, you will need to fill in our application form. To request a hardcopy membership application form, please call our Membership Team on 020 7278 1041. The completed form and accompanying documents must then be returned by post to our London office.

The NCVYS Trustee Board considers membership applications at its quarterly meetings. Following acceptance into membership, your organisation will receive an induction visit from your link staff member and further information about our products and services.

Our protocol

In line with its mission, NCVYS aims to involve all organisations who are currently under-represented in its network, in particular organisations working with Black and minority ethnic young people, disabled young people and marginalised young people.

In order to remain relevant as a representative body, NCVYS also seeks to ensure full geographical coverage and to involve organisations that pioneer new approaches to youth work.

Before processing any member application, NCVYS will:

• ascertain the applying organisation’s remit and the membership benefits it is seeking;

• ensure that NCVYS membership is more appropriate than membership of another body;

• provide clear information about the role and remit of NCVYS and, if appropriate, details of local, regional and/or national bodies that may be more relevant to join;

• ensure that prospective members meet our membership criteria and demonstrate commitment to our aims and values.

Annual membership fees

Membership fees are based on an organisation’s income as shown in its published accounts. Affiliation fees for a youth section or department of a larger organisation are determined on the basis of incoming resources as shown in the section or department budget.
