Good to be Green

Why the environment matters to young people and how it can help you

The National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS), in partnership with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and members of the NCVYS Environment Community have produced the Environment Charter to help voluntary and community organisations consider ways of working that will help young people make the most of the natural environment.

Read the Environment Charter and learn more about:
• Why understanding their environment helps young people thrive
• How to author your own environmental policy
• The great resources there are for getting young people interested in green issues

Transforming Green Spaces: Transforming Young People's Lives

Building on the work of the NCVYS Environment Community, Catch22, in association with NCVYS and GreenSpace, the nation’s park’s charity, hosted a free conference on the role of young people in designing and managing public spaces. The conference explored best practice from around the country and new approaches to funding and sustainability. The event report can be found here and slides are available below.
